His passing occurred while he was stationed at MCB Camp Hanson in Okinawa, Japan. Born on February 15th, 2002, at Bon Secours Hospital in Grosse Pointe, MI, Westley embodied the values of diligence, dedication, and unwavering commitment to both his family and his country.
From a young age, Westley’s strong work ethic and sense of duty were evident. During his time at Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores, MI, he became a part of the school’s JROTC program. His path took a resolute turn when, at the age of 17, he chose to embark on a journey with the United States Marine Corps. Graduating in 2020, he began his proud service as an armorer, contributing to the defense of his nation.
Beyond his military responsibilities, Westley cherished his family. He had a deep affection for his parents, Westley Sr. and Andrea (Baldes), his sister Amber, and his brother Niccolas. The bond he shared with them was one of love, mutual respect, and profound pride. Grandparents Mark & Deborah (Ibianski) Baldes Sr. held a special place in his heart. His uncles, Mark (Jenn) Baldes II, Jeremy (Kristy) Baldes, and Christopher Baldes, and aunt Tabitha Karp, added to his cherished circle. His Marine Corps family at 3D Intelligence Battalion Okinawa, Japan, stood as a testament to his camaraderie.
Outside his military duties, Westley enjoyed moments of bonding, such as target shooting with his father and younger brother. As he laid his head to rest, he was accompanied by the warmth of his family’s love and the deep sense of pride they felt for his service.
