Amy Thompson Obituary, Death – Amy Lynn Thompson, age 50, of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away following a brief illness, on Friday, July 22, 2022. Born in Washington, D.C., on January 17, 1972, Amy devoted her life to being a loving daughter, sister, wife, and friend. A fun, loving, generous and caring “Country Girl”, Amy loved being on her farm and taking care of her animals, or her “children” as she referred to them. Amy had a passion for animals, especially horses and had been riding since the age of two. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help others, in any way necessary.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, dancing, and traveling in her RV or taking a cruise. Amy loved life and lived to the fullest, she will surely be missed by her loving family and friends. Preceding her in death is her father, Charles Thompson; special cousin, Brian Seitz; most cherished horses, Rocky and Bullwinkle; and beloved dog, BoBo. Survivors include her husband of eleven years, Kenneth McMahan; mother, Sheila Thomison; one son, William (Lauren) Shoup; one daughter, Angela (Josh) Luna; honorary brother, Brian (Cindy) Houck; two sisters, Stephanie (Randy) Chaffin and Mignon “Nonnie” (Jeremy) Colvin;
two grandchildren, Kale Shoup and Kinley Rae Shoup; three nephews, Scott Chaffin, Wyatt Colvin and Jonas Colvin; one niece, Molly Chaffin; and fifteen horses, six dogs, two cats and one potbellied pig. Celebration of Life Services will be held at Coffee County Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2PM, with Bro. Buster Bush officiating. The family will receive visitors, at the funeral home, from 11AM until time of services.
