Wexford Teenager Obituary, Death – A tragic event that occurred at the residence of a teenage boy in Wexford town last week resulted in the boy’s passing away. At approximately 4.30 p.m. on Thursday evening, fourteen-year-old Alex Saunders was apparently discovered lifeless in a pool of some kind that was located in the backyard of his home in Cromwellsfort. After then, there was a massive response from multiple agencies, and emergency vehicles rushed to the location. After receiving medical attention at the scene from members of the National Ambulance Service, the student from St. Peter’s College was hastily transported to Wexford General Hospital, where he was accompanied by a garda.
The adolescent was eventually sent to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for more treatment; nevertheless, he unfortunately passed away on Sunday night surrounded by his family who was inconsolable. Garda who were present at the site stated that the incident was being investigated as a “tragic accident,” and it will be necessary to perform an autopsy in order to determine the cause of death. There is a lack of clarity regarding the sequence of events that led up to the startling tragedy.
Friends and neighbors of the Saunders family were devastated by the news, and the thoughts and prayers of the entire community were focused on Patience and John Saunders, who are now left to grieve the loss of their son Alex. Because of her position as Chairperson of The Collective Sensory Group in Wexford, Patience is well-known in the community, and everyone who works for the organization was heartbroken when they heard the news. George Lawlor, a local politician and fellow board member, had a difficult time making sense of a devastating loss.
“I’m just really shocked at the sudden passing of Alex,” he said. “I’m just really shocked.” It is heartbreaking to think that a young life was taken in such a senseless accident as this. According to all accounts, Alex was a well-liked young man, and both his mother Patience and his father John are well-known figures in the neighborhood where they raised their family. “Over the past year, Patience has served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Collective Sensory Group, a position she has held for the most of this time. On the occasion of such a terrible loss, the thoughts of everyone involved are with Patience and John, as well as the rest of the family.
