Don Donald Death, Obituary – It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our cherished Don Donald, ALC – the esteemed Qualifying Broker of the Great Southern Land office in Camden, Alabama. Beyond being a colleague, Don held a special place in our hearts as a true friend within the industry. Don’s remarkable journey in the realm of land and real estate commenced in 1986 when he joined Great Southern Land. Having had the privilege of knowing him throughout my entire life, I also had the honor of being mentored by him as my first Associate Broker.
Don’s unwavering dedication and passion for the field were evident even in his early days as a part-time land agent, a role he effortlessly balanced alongside his full-time position as an aerospace engineer at NASA. As a distinguished honoree of the Apollo 11 mission launch, Don’s life story was a testament to the rewards of hard work and perseverance.
In 1992, Don bid farewell to NASA, committing himself entirely to the world of real estate. His commitment shone through as he evolved into a respected land agent, appraiser, and advisor. His vast expertise garnered him the revered Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation from the Realtors Land Institute, a testament to his profound knowledge and contributions.
However, Don’s legacy extended beyond his professional accomplishments. He was a devoted pillar of his community, exemplified by his active involvement in Bethsaida Baptist Church in Furman, Alabama. His passion for history, the great outdoors, and turkey hunting was truly contagious, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we bid farewell to Don Donald, we find solace in the memories we shared, the lessons he imparted, and the countless lives he touched. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will forever remain alive within us. Let us remember him not just for his accomplishments, but for the warmth, kindness, and inspiration he brought to our lives.
