Edward Richard Obituary, Death – On March 21st, 2023, Edward Joseph Richard, who resided in Middleton, New Hampshire, and was 90 years old, passed away. On June 1st, 1932 in the city of Exeter, New Hampshire, Ralph O. Richard and Genevieve Gaudette Richard welcomed their son Edward into the world. He was a man of many passions, and among of his favorites were hunting, fishing, and golfing. Ed enrolled in the Navy and served on the USS Brownson from July 1951 until August 1955, during which time he took great pride in serving his country.
Both the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal were bestowed upon him in recognition of his service. Edward is survived by his devoted wife Judith and their nine children: Cindy (Gary) Eldredge of Pittsfield, Roxanne Richard of Exeter, Candice (Mark) Egan of Newmarket, Brenda Richard Jones of Newmarket, Angelique Richard of Somersworth, Joey Richard of Washington, Jeff (Tracy) Richard of Washington, Caren (Dean) Pratt of Rochester, Erica Rock (Jubran Whalen) of Colorado, and Angelique Richard of Somersworth.
In addition, the Edwards family has fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Additionally, Mae Rossiter of Florida serves as the sole survivor of the Edwards family. Edward had a great deal of affection for his children and his country, in addition to his enthusiasm for the many hobbies he pursued in his spare time. He was a stalwart guardian throughout his life and has a wonderful sense of humor, leaving behind traces of his fun-loving sarcasm wherever he went.
Edward had a favorable effect on both our neighborhood and our family; he will be much missed. At 11 of the clock in the morning on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, there will be a graveside service with Military Honors held at Exeter Cemetery in Exeter, New Hampshire.
