George Gwaltney Obituary, Death – George Donald “Don” Gwaltney, who was 83 years old when he went away, passed away in his house on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 9:46 am. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing, and he was able to spend his final moments there. The 31st of March, 1938 found him being welcomed into the world in Eldorado by his parents, George R. Gwaltney and Katie (Greer) Gwaltney. George R. Gwaltney was his father, and he was the son.
Before he decided to take an early retirement offer from AMOCO and leave his job as a carpenter there after a significant amount of years of service, he worked there. His marriage to Sharon Kay Love took place at Rosewood Heights on June 16th, 1959.
The event was held at the Rosewood Heights neighborhood. She will exist in the world in the future. Sons Scott (Jamie) Gwaltney of Edwardsville and Brad (Kim) Gwaltney of Wood River are both a part of the group of persons who have been deserted. Both of their mothers have died. In addition to their grandkids Matthew Gwaltney, Bradley Gwaltney, Jake Gwaltney, and Jenna Gwaltney, they are survived by their great-granddaughter Nora Gwaltney and Maren Gwaltney. They also had Matthew Gwaltney, Bradley Gwaltney, and Jake Gwaltney as grandchildren.
On Monday, January 10, visitation is going to take place at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rosewood Heights from three in the afternoon until seven o’clock that evening.
Funeral services will be held for the deceased on Tuesday, January 11, at 10:30 in the morning. The day and time have not yet been determined. Pastors Debra Hoertel, David Schultz, and Daryl Fansler will, in order, preside over the services that are to be held. After the funeral services, the deceased individual’s body will be laid to rest in the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, which are located in Bethalto. Both the Preachers Aid Society and Benefit Fund and the St. Paul United Methodist Church are worthy recipients of memorial donations. Donations can be made to any of these organizations in honor of the deceased individual.
