Haines Maureen Death, Obituary – Maureen, who was 85 years old when she died away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, after a brief battle with sickness, will be mourned by her family and friends who are filled with regret at her passing. Loving mother of Rob, who is married to Nancy, and Melissa, and loving grandmother of Kevin, who is married to Laura, Sara, Max, and Ben. A cherished aunt to Shannyn, as well as a loyal friend to Marg. Her sisters Margaret and Penny, as well as her brother George, passed away before she did.
With more than three decades of experience in the field, Maureen was the ideal educator. Especially in the course of her work as a behavioral expert at Parliament Oak School, she assisted a great number of students in realizing their full potential at a time when they required assistance the most. She was a voracious reader and she spent her free time supporting the Blue Jays, going to Bridge Group, and participating in reading organizations.
Maureen was able to recount a story with exacting precision, and she enjoyed chit-chatting with her numerous friends over a nice cup of tea. Those who were closest to her will never forget her, and the memories of their “red Christmas ball” will always be how they do so.
In respect for Maureen’s wishes, a small funeral attended by just immediate family members was held. Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, located at 26 Nihan Drive in St. Catharines (in between Lake Street & Scott Street), is in charge of the arrangements. They may be reached at 289-362-1144.
