Jimmy Jacobs Obituary, Death – Jimmy E. Jacobs passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 85, following a courageous fight against kidney cancer that lasted 19 years. On May 15th, 1937, he entered this world as the lone son and the youngest of four children. After receiving his diploma from Sylva High School, Jimmy enlisted in the Navy and served there for a period of four years. Both he and his wife, Reba Jacobs, took pleasure in going on trips, attending church, and spending time with their children, grandkids, and other family members. Jimmy’s enthusiasm for collegiate athletics extended to rooting for UNC Chapel Hill and Duke, two schools that are fierce rivals in the state of North Carolina.
