Jordan Demay Death, Obituary – MARQUETTE, Michigan – The name Jordan John DeMay, who was 17 years old and lived in Marquette, passed away on March 25, 2022. Jordan C. DeMay was born in Ishpeming on June 7, 2004, however he was raised in Marquette by his parents, John C. DeMay and Jennifer (Dickow). In his younger years, he frequently visited his grandparents in White Pine, where they shared many happy moments together. He began his athletic career at a very young age, participating in baseball, basketball, and football, in addition to running track.
Both in basketball and football, he was a star athlete, and his mother was his coach when he played his very first game of basketball. Jordan spent the remainder of his life combining his passions for basketball and football with his mother and father, and he gave equal credit to both of them for instilling in him a lifelong interest in athletics. Jordan went to Cherry Creek Elementary, Bothwell Middle School, and was presently a senior at Marquette Senior High School, where he was extremely engaged in the football and basketball teams. In addition, he attended Marquette Senior High School.
It was often said that Jordan’s purpose as a player was to “be the best I can be as a person on and off the field.” Jordan was a player who was mature, empathetic, and focused on the team. He was a young guy with a lot of drive, and after suffering a terrible knee injury that kept him out of action for a whole year, he took the decision to rehabilitate himself and started making preparations to go to college. His decision to major in Athletic Training was partially motivated by the rehabilitation personnel at Sports Medicine, who inspired him to pursue this line of work. Jordan was a leader on the squad who served as a role model and guide for his other players in addition to being one of them.
His competitive spirit, along with his willingness to give both his time and his talents to anything he was involved in, won him a spot on the Honorable Mention All-Conference Second Team. At MSHS, he was involved in a variety of sports organizations, and he guided his life by the principle that he should exert maximum effort in order to realize his full potential. Jordan had a wonderful personality, loved his family deeply, and was really committed to them, especially his sisters, who had a profound admiration for him.
He was talented to the point that he did well on many of the things he attempted and liked coming to the beach, being in, on, or near the water. He also enjoyed being near other people. People will always remember him for his infectious laugh, his big, fluffy hair, his wonderful personality, and his capacity to motivate people.
