Kema Abson Obituary, Death – Kema Abson, who was born on December 28, 1946 in Akron, Ohio and passed away on January 25, 2016, in Walkerville, Michigan, did not suffer a painful death. Jim is survived by his Life Partner Terri Kennedy, his two children Michelle Cleckner and James Abson of Uniontown, Ohio, two grandsons, Brandon and Tylor Cleckner, and Great Grand Daughter Jessica, as well as two brothers, Michael (Marion) and Donald (Karen) Abson.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marion Abson. On January 30, 2016, there was a gathering of immediate family members, and a Memorial Service is scheduled to take place at the residence of Terri Kennedy on May 29, 2016. Gardner High School was the place where Kema completed her secondary education, and it was there that she also participated in basketball.
After finishing her education, she tried her hand at a number of different careers before landing a position with ConAgra. She was elected as the Union Steward for United Food & Commercial Workers International Union, Local 425 while she was employed at ConAgra, and she served in that capacity for a number of years. Grandma was an usher at the Springhill Baptist Church in Oakland, Louisiana, where she had been a member of the congregation for many years.
Both the Gardner High School Alumni Association and the Order of the Eastern Star counted her as a member of their respective organizations. Wednesdays at the Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas were her favorite day to go to the Noon Day Bible Study there. In addition to that, she enjoyed going to garage sales, using her word search book, playing card games on her computer, and watching the San Antonio Spurs play basketball, which was her favorite sport.
