Larry Allison Obituary, Death – Another stroke was the cause of Larry Allen Allison’s death, which took place on January 10, 2023 in Fielding, Utah. He was 85 years old. Kimberly, Idaho was the location of his birth on January 3, 1938. His parents were Glen and Violet (Hoover) Allison. He started milking cows when he was only six years old and did a variety of other agricultural labor throughout his childhood on the family farm in Jerome, Idaho, where he was reared. His upbringing on the farm instilled in him a strong work ethic at an early age. He went to Jerome High School, where he excelled academically and was ultimately elected President of the Senior Class. Larry’s passion was for people, and he had a knack for striking up discussions wherever he went.
He was able to converse with anyone on any topic. It was nothing out of the ordinary for him to carry on a conversation with another person as if he had known that person for years, only to find out that they had only met a few minutes earlier. After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy and was given the chance to see many other countries. He went on a trip that took him to Hawaii, Australia, Japan, Fiji, Hong Kong, and a number of other islands in the South Pacific. After he crossed the equator, he transformed into a shellback. Together with a close friend, he began his investigation into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was serving in the Navy. After much reflection and prayer, he decided to become a member of the church.
He had a great testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served in numerous roles in the church, including as a Bishop in Twentynine Palms, California and the Hampton Ford Ward in Utah, as a teacher in several organizations, as a counselor to bishops, and as a high priest group leader. He also had a strong testimony of the importance of the Holy Ghost. While he was home on leave from the Navy, his closest buddy arranged for him to go out on a date with Patricia Jewell. While he was serving in the Navy, they dated for a total of two years. After he completed his service in the Navy, they began to take their relationship to a more committed level. On September 6, 1960, they exchanged vows in the Idaho Falls Temple and became husband and wife. They had one male among their six daughters, and it was a blessing.
Following his time in the Navy, he received his education in electronics at a community college in Pocatello, Idaho. After completing his education, he secured a position at the Nevada test site, where he remained employed for the subsequent nine years. During his final year there, he held a job at Area 51 and commuted there by helicopter every day. In Jerome, Idaho, he was employed in the field of electrical work. In addition to that, he was the proprietor of a printing company in Twentynine Palms, California, for a period of five years. 1979 was the year that he started working at Thiokol, and shortly after that, the family relocated to Fielding. Fixing the computers that controlled the numerical processes was something that he took great pleasure in doing throughout his stay there. He was always up to the task of overcoming new obstacles, which arose on a daily basis.
If he was stumped on how to solve anything one day, he would think about it all night and wake up with the solution the next morning. When he suffered a major stroke in 1999 and was rendered incapable of working, it tore at his heart. In spite of the fact that he had a significant disability, he was able to regain the ability to walk because to his dogged persistence and desire. Larry’s health continued to deteriorate, and as a result, he was able to take care of himself less and less as the years went by. For a number of years, he and his girlfriend Pat were able to travel to see their relatives. Over the course of more than 23 years, Pat devoted herself to taking care of Larry. In her treatment of him, she exemplified the virtue of a saint.
