Lynn Mamalynn Obituary, Death – Kristin Chenoweth is in deep sadness following the passing of Lynn, her biological mother. The Broadway actress took to social media this afternoon, August 19, to share the terrible news along with a series of images from days spent together since they first reunited just over a decade ago. The post was accompanied by a caption that said, “It’s been almost a decade since we last saw each other.” Today, Chenoweth shared the news on her Instagram account that “the angel that brought me into this world has passed away.” “Let me introduce you to Lynn. “Also known as Mamalynn.”
She referred to the period of time during which she got to know Mamalynn as “magic,” speaking up about how she discovered more about herself as they grew more acquainted with one another. “Those of us who had the privilege of knowing her cherished her radiance. Her passion for music as well as the arts in general. An artist in her own right! The woman who gave the world the stunning Jennifer and the adorable Chris. She was so devoted to her family!
The singer went on to discuss about the musicians that had served as influences for her, including Stevie Ray, Jimmie Vaughan, Doyle Bramhall, and Jimi Hendrix, whom she became familiar with while her mother was pregnant with her. “…and naturally, Billy Ethridge, who is my biological father. The two of them were responsible for the natural artistic skill that I possess to this day.
She went on to say, “Mamalynn prayed for me on my birthday every year, hoping that I was living the most perfect life, which of course, I was.” I slipped away to pray for her as well, secretly hoping that one day I would be able to have the opportunity to tell her “thank you.” Which I performed on the 12th of December 2012. A picture perfect day! In the end, we didn’t leave anything out of the conversation.”
Chenoweth summarized her feelings by saying, “I will miss her until the very end of my days.” After that, however, I will soar into the clouds, where she will be waiting to meet me, and she will tell me, “start singing, Babygirl!” And I will do just that. Rest in peace, Mamalynn.” She did not divulge the specifics of when or where Lynn passed away, nor did she discuss the possible causes of death. The former Wicked actress, now 55 years old, was adopted by her parents, Junie and Jerry, when she was just five days old. She has stated in the past that Junie “gave me a life” while Lynn “gave me life.”
