Michael Irvin Death, Death – DFA murder took place at the house of a guy in Decatur many years ago. The family of Michael “Dooney” Irvin, Jr. has stated that they are still waiting for justice to be served. “I’m truly an angry mother, and God is going to have to help me get through this,” Georgia Irvin, Michael’s mother, said. “I’m going to have to rely on him.” Irvin, who was 30 years old and lived on Marion Street, was shot and died in his house on February 25, 2019. His mother claims that despite their efforts over the past many years, they have not yet seen justice.
“Ever since the death of my child, I haven’t been able to get a full night’s rest. There is not a single second left. It’s not easy not to dwell on him at any given moment of the day; my mind wanders to him often. “It is difficult,” Georgia remarked. “If you’ve never experienced the death of a child, you can’t possibly understand how it feels.” In 2019, Zachary Williams and Ulysses Wilkerson were both taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing of Irvin. In December of the previous year, a jury in Morgan County found Williams not guilty of the charges.
“This individual is completely free to go. “His mother, his parents, his children, sisters, and brothers – they can go visit him, but in order for me to speak to my son, I have to come over here with my coat on and sit at Sterrs Cemetery,” Georgia added. Irvin’s daughter, who was just 4 years old at the time, as well as his son, who was 8 years old, were both there in the house when the murder took place. The daughter was present when it happened. “This child has got to live and grow up knowing what happened to her father,” Georgia remarked.
Irvin’s loved ones and friends are doing everything they can to carry on his legacy today. People in the Decatur community seem to agree that he had a vital role there. “Michael was a kind and kind individual. He received his diploma from the high school. He competed in track, football, and basketball respectively. He was the kind of person who gives. “Michael would give you the shirt off his back, and he didn’t deserve what Zachary Williams and Ulysses did to him,” Georgia said. “Michael would give you the shirt off his back.”
Wilkerson has not yet been brought before a judge, and there is currently no date scheduled for his trial. Georgia has stated that they are keeping their fingers crossed that they will hear from the district attorney shortly. “I don’t want someone to get electrocuted or have their life taken away in such a way. According to Georgia, “I want them to sit up there day for day to know what they did, and I want them to never get out.”
