Rebecca Hidalgo Obituary, Death – Cecilia Hidalgo, age 83, a resident of Hooker, Oklahoma, passed away on July 5, 2011, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Cecilia Garcia Vigil was the daughter of Adelaido and Rebecca Garcia Vigil. She was born on April 16, 1928 in Conlen, Texas. She spent her childhood in Conlen, where she also received her education and ultimately earned her high school diploma.Cecilia and Paulo Hidalgo exchanged their vows of matrimony on October 27, 1945 in the town of Langtry, Texas. She was employed as a Nurse’s Aid at the Coon Memorial Home in Dalhart, Texas, which is also where the couple made their home.
In 1973, they made the relocation to Hooker, which is located in Oklahoma. A large number of Hooker region families rely on Cecilia for in-home caregiving services. She attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hooker and was a member there. Her parents, her husband, Paul, a daughter, Sally Ann Hidalgo, a granddaughter named Deedie Taylor, three grandsons named Dustin Lewis, Conrad, and James Hidalgo, two brothers named Mag Vigil and Lewis Vigil, and four sisters named Pauline Neely, Annie Hidalgo, Sally Gallegos, and Mary Frances Vigil all preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Hidalgo of Plains, Kansas, Ronnie Hidalgo and Joan of Hennepin, Oklahoma, Paul Hidalgo and Kim of Hooker, Oklahoma; five daughters, Paulette Taylor and Randy of Duncan, Oklahoma, Carolyn Montoya and Robert of Hooker, Oklahoma, Becky Hidalgo of Duncan, Oklahoma, Rosalie Bolles and Larry of Duncan, Oklahoma, Patsy Norman of Burnet, Texas; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-one great grandchildren.
On Friday, July 8, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., the Sacred Heart Catholic Church located in Hooker will be hosting a Rosary prayer service. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hooker on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral home Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker will be in charge of the proceedings. The Hooker Cemetery will serve as the location for the interment.
