Beloved husband of the late Marilyn E Additionally, Barbara Stanley was deeply in love with Tom Stanley. Tom spent his childhood in the town of Lombard in Illinois. He received his high school education at Glenbard High School, located in Glen Ellyn, and his college education at Bradley University, located in Peoria, Illinois. On August 3, 1963, he tied the knot with Marilyn McKenna. They made Wheaton their home and spent the majority of their 56 years there on Indiana Street.
They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary while raising five children and having a total of fifty years of marriage. Tom looked forward to spending time with his family on family trips, fishing, playing golf, coaching baseball, going to live music shows, dancing, and seeing the Cubs and Bears play. After working for Allstate for a significant amount of time, Tom decided to devote some of his free time to the Meals on Wheels program in DuPage County.
In his later years, he found great satisfaction in spending time with his 17 grandchildren and following their exploits, as well as in Barbara, his longtime companion and friend. Tom had a perpetually upbeat attitude and was able to look for the positive in both life and other people. He had a remarkable ability to strike up conversations and make acquaintances wherever he went.
