Trevor Coates Car Accident , Death, Obituary – Trevor Coates, age 23, was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in an accident in which it smashed into a tree. The collision that took place over the weekend on the B3227 close to Blackerton Cross in East Anstey resulted in fatal injuries, according to the police. Mr. Coates, who was from Brompton Regis, was involved. He was a well-known face in the Wiveliscombe Rugby Club, where he was a member, and he had previously competed for the Minehead Barbarians.
Graham Symes, a member of the West Somerset club, expressed his condolences and thoughts on Facebook, writing, “A wonderful young man, our condolences and our thoughts to Trevor’s family, friends, and all at Wiveliscombe RFC from Minehead Barbarians RFC.” A representative for the Devon and Cornwall Police Department stated that the collision that resulted in Mr. Coates’ death took place at around 5.20 p.m. on Saturday.
They went on to say that “The car (a Volkswagen Bora) appears to have lost control on a bend, left the road, and collided with a tree, resulting in tragically fatal injuries to one of the occupants of the vehicle, a 23-year-old male from the Minehead area.” The victim was from the Minehead region. “Specialist roads policing officers as well as local officers attended the collision scene, along with our colleagues from the ambulance and fire service, where a forensic investigation of the collision was carried out,”
“Any witnesses to the collision who have not already spoken to the police are asked to contact us on 101 quoting log number 633 of 05/12/2020, particularly if they have any dashcam footage,” the statement stated, adding that “any witnesses who have dashcam footage are especially encouraged to get in touch.” We would like to express our profound sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased and thank the members of the public for their patience while we conducted our investigation at the site.
A man in his seventies from Somerset who was driving a car that was involved in a collision with a van on the A36 at Pepperbox Hill, close to Salisbury, soon after midday on Saturday, lost his life as a result of the accident. The driver of the van was transferred to Salisbury District Hospital after sustaining injuries that were considered critical but not immediately life-threatening. A passenger in the van was also rushed to the hospital for treatment, although their injuries were not as severe. Accident investigators worked at the scene for a period of six hours, during which time the A36 was blocked off in both directions at the site in question.
